Postcard from: London, England

Hello!🇬🇧  / Bonjour! 🇫🇷
I’m Iris from ThroughtheIrisBlog.

I remember the first day I arrived in London with my huge suitcase, feeling a bit lost in Liverpool Street Station. Five years after, I still love this buzzing, amazing city and my favourite walk remains one of the first one I did: Southbank.

Let’s start at Londons most famous landmark: Big Ben! There are several options to reach it: Westminster tube station or the double decker bus. Don’t forget to check out Westminster Abbey and the back of the Parliament.

Cross the bridge to the South bank of the Thames to reach the London eye (maybe the second most famous landmark?).

This side of the river is always very animated, street artists, evenements(not sure what this word means), festivals, everything happens here. If you’re in London during winter time, you’ll find here a Christmas market.

My little tip: Cross the jubilee bridge on one side and again on the other. You have amazing views on both sides!

Walk past Southbank Center and Blackfriars Bridge to reach the Tate Modern and Millenium Bridge. If you need a little break, have a cup of tea or coffee at the restaurant in the Tate Modern, the view of St Paul’s Cathedral is gorgeous.

Don’t forget to cross the bridge to get a closer look at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Carry on past the Shakespeare Globe Museum to reach Southwark Bridge and London bridge. Time for some food? Head to Borough Market for a rapid snack, or in one of the numerous pubs around it for a seated break.

After your break, head back to the water to reach the City Hall. From here you have the best possible view on Tower Bridge (and another tick for London’s landmarks).

You can choose to cross Tower bridge to have a look at Tower of London, or wait for the sunset in a bar or restaurant on the south side of the Thames.
